Embraer E2 - Rollout Happens Today - Live Broadcast (February 25)!

Boeing Launches Freighter 737-800 BCF

Boeing  today (feb, 24th) launched the Next-Generation 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) with orders and commitments for up to 55 conversions from seven customers. "The Next-Generation 737 provides exceptional value to express freight carriers through its superior payload, range, reliability and efficiency," said Stan Deal, senior vice president, Commercial Aviation Services, Boeing Commercial Airplanes. "While the recovery of the global cargo market has been slow, we see demand for freighters, such as the 737-800BCF, that will carry express cargo on domestic routes," Deal said. Boeing South Carolina's Delivers 100th Boeing 787 for American Airlines

By Boeing Press  Boeing South Carolina marked a milestone today, with the delivery of the 100th airplane built at the North Charleston site. The airplane, a 787-8, was delivered to American Airlines in front of hundreds of Boeing South Carolina teammates. "Reaching this milestone is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team," said Beverly Wyse, vice president and general manager of Boeing South Carolina. "As we continue to prepare for the new 787-10 and production rate increases, we're excited about what the future holds here in North Charleston." Today's delivery marked American's first 787 from Boeing South Carolina and 14th overall. The airline has 28 more Dreamliners on order. Airbus starts A350-1000 final assembly

Airbus has started final assembly of the first A350-1000 on schedule at the A350 XWB Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Toulouse, France. This A350-1000, one of three flight test aircraft to be built, will take to the skies for its maiden flight before the end of 2016. A350-1000 deliveries will start in mid-2017 with Qatar Airways, which was also a launch customer of the A350-900 version. To ensure the smooth integration of the A350-1000 into the FAL while A350-900 production is ramping-up, Airbus has added three additional final assembly stations and is increasing the number of the final assembly line of the A350 XWB employees from its current level - about 1,500 - 1,900 to about 2018. For maximum flexibility, all stations in the A350 XWB FAL can be used for both models. Currently in “Station 50” for fuselage join-up and nose landing gear installation, the first A350-1000 will next move to “Station 40” where the wings, main landing gear, pylons and tail plane

A321neo fly for the first time

The first A321neo equipped with CFM International LEAP-1A engines completed its maiden flight on February 9th from Hamburg, Germany. The aircraft, registration D-AVXB, was flown by Experimental Test Pilots Martin Scheuermann and Bernardo Saez Benito Hernandez. Accompanying them in the cockpit was Test-Flight Engineer Gérard Leskerpit and monitoring the flight’s progress were Flight-Test Engineers Sandra Bour Schaeffer and Emiliano Requena Esteban. The flight lasted five hours and 29 minutes during which tests were performed on the engine speed variation (low/high), systems behaviour and to validate the aircraft’s flight envelope. The A321neo will join the NEO flight test fleet and perform a partial flight test programme to validate the impact on handling qualities, performance and systems.
