Last Saturday (March, 12), the Boeing 747-400 leased by the band Iron Maiden, dubbed "Ed Force One" had an accident with a tractor in Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport in Santigo, Chile. The aircraft was being refueled before flying over the Andes in Cordoba where the band performed the recent show in this last Sunday (March, 13).

During transport, the fork (part of the mechanism that connects the trailer to the aircraft) is released. The trailer severely broke the fairing, two engines and wounding two trailer operators. The two operators were taken to hospital.

The engineers have been on site assessing the damage, and they said the aircraft will undergo a long period of maintenance and will need two new engines.
