747 Ed Force One Iron Maiden Band is Out of the Tour After Accident. View Photos

Last Saturday (March, 12), the Boeing 747-400 leased by the band Iron Maiden, dubbed "Ed Force One" had an accident with a tractor in Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport in Santigo, Chile. The aircraft was being refueled before flying over the Andes in Cordoba where the band performed the recent show in this last Sunday (March, 13).

During transport, the fork (part of the mechanism that connects the trailer to the aircraft) is released. The trailer severely broke the fairing, two engines and wounding two trailer operators. The two operators were taken to hospital.

The engineers have been on site assessing the damage, and they said the aircraft will undergo a long period of maintenance and will need two new engines.

Even with Ed Force One in "hurt" in Santiago. The band chartered half of its logistics aboard the legendary Boeing 737-200 of Aerovias DAP and the other half of the logistics was transported by truck. But the shipping service and customs were stayed by Aerocardal account.

By the time of this article, the band has not canceled their shows to his tour 2016. The schedule of concerts can be followed here.
